I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and did all the things your heart desired. A few weeks ago I ordered from Lush the infamous Mask of Magnaminty. As some of you may know I have been battling acne since I was in the 7th grade and at 28 I’m still dealing. It’s my daily struggle. It’s a constant battle to fight acne then keep it gone.
So I went on a journey. I went in search of the perfect mask to help fight my acne and leave my face soft and refreshed. My holy grail has been Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque. Don’t get me wrong that was sent from the skin care gawds but this lush mask has beat out my holy grail.
What the site claims:
Makes dirt a distant memory
“Mask of Magnaminty isn’t technically a daily ‘facial wash’; it’s actually a deep cleansing face and back mask. China clay and fresh peppermint reach deep down to pull the debris from your pores, giving you that delightful tingly-clean sensation. We add loads of aduki beans to exfoliate flaky or dry skin, vanilla absolute to calm redness and honey to soothe. Our inventors created Mask of Magnaminty to be the ‘ultimate face mask’, intense but not harsh or abrasive on the skin. We recommend using Mask of Magnaminty weekly to keep the skin in good condition.”-Lush Site
What is actually does:
- Digs deep into your pores and makes them squeaky clean.
- Clears/dries up pimples.
- Leaves face feeling soft and refreshes
Price: $12.95-$24.95 depending on the size you get
Like most Lush mask this one does not require refrigeration and has a shelf life that is a little longer then their other mask (I still chill mine because application feels better). The mask is also made from mostly natural ingredients (See ingredients below). It is green in color with what looks like small chocolate chunks. It has a slightly grainy texture to it which helps with exfoliation. It smells like Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream. I just want to take a bite.
Bentonite Gel , Kaolin , Honey (Mel) , Talc , Ground Aduki Beans (Phaseolus) , Glycerine , Evening Primrose Seeds (Oenothera biennis) , Peppermint Oil (Mentha piperita) , African Marigold Oil (Tagetes erecta) , Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla planifolia) , Perfume , Chlorophyll , Methylparaben
-Blue Ingredients are synthetic
How to use:
“Plaster this deep green mask all over your clean face, neck and back. Leave it on for up to 15 minutes then wash it off with warm water, massaging as you go (avoiding the eye area).”-Lush Site
How I use it:
I cleanse my face with which ever cleanser I am using at the time (I can’t remember the name of my current cleanser) pat dry with a paper towel. I allow a 1 of air dry time then start to apply the mask. I cover all problematic areas which includes my T-Zone and my cheeks. I let it it sit for about 20-30 minutes because I want it to completely dry. Once it is completely dry, I use warm water to rub off the mask in a circular motion. This helps to remove the mask and exfoliate my skin at the same time. I do this until all traces of the mask has been removed and then pat dry with another paper towel. Once this is complete I move on to the rest of my night time cleansing routine.
It’s amazing and I fully recommend it to everyone. Is this product something that I use every day? No! Is it worth the $12 to $24 it cost? Absolutely, this is a product that will forever be in rotation for me. I saw results over night. I woke up up the next morning and realized the whole parade I had on my cheeks has diminished dramatically. It in turn turned into just a marching band in just one night. It smells good, feels good, and does exactly what it says it’s supposed to do. The only con I can think of it’s forever sold out on line so if you don’t have a Lush store in your area this product may be hard to get your hands on. It’s actually sold out now. It can be purchased here when it is back in stock.
I hope you all enjoyed this post and I’m very sorry it’s so long. I’m at work at the moment but I will incorporate actual product pictures so you can see what it looks like.
Do you have this mask? Have you tried any of the products from lush? Let me know what you think of them down below!
Until next time…be fabulous!
