I guess this is foil week lol. No, seriously I recently picked the Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eyeshadow in Comex Copper (geez that was a mouth full). These aren’t new by any stretch but I caught them on sale for $14.99 on 6pm.com and said what the hell, I’ll give it a try. With a retail price of $32.00 at Macy’s I felt like it was worth the try.
Stila’s newest collection of heavy-metal hues deliver pure rock and roll glamour. The unique, metallic, foil finish eye shadows are like nothing you’ve ever seen and sure to have you channeling your inner rock star. The revolutionary textured cream with a magnificent foil finish is buildable, enabling you to create a range of looks from a sheer wash of shimmer to a striking, metallic, full-coverage look.
- Included is a handy mixing tray and a mini Stay All Day Liquid Eye Primer that preps the lids and allows for all-day wear with a unique liquid formula that creates long-lasting adhesion to lids.
- The primer comes with a dropper, for easy, measured application. Simply apply, combine and shine!
Now, to be honest in this situation I got what I paid for. I snagged the product for a very good price however, it did not come with out punishment. Upon opening the box I realized that the small bottle that at some point clearly housed the primer was completely empty! I was totally upset for about 2 minute then I realized it’s not that serious and moved on. The product it self has a very mushy/mousse like texture to it. It’s almost like glittered play doh or something. I can’t really explain it lol. I must say I wouldn’t make any attempt to just use this alone with no base of any kind laid down first. By base I don’t even just mean a cream base or primer I mean I would put down some shade of eyeshadow and use this to make it pop.
I wasn’t impressed with the pigmentation and this isn’t a stand alone eyeshadow by any means. Not to me anyway. I do think this would be a good product to lay on the center of your lips to give your look some glam. I don’t find this product to be worth the $32.00 price tag that it’s listed as. I honestly would not have spent that amount of money on it. I think it’s worthy of the $15.00 tag but that’s it. It’s not opaque at all. It is buildable but does crease quite a bit on the lids. As you can see, the swatch is barely visible against my brown skin. I had to give the pictures some warmth just to get it to show up. Overall, I’m not at all impressed with this product. I am so glad I didn’t jump on the bandwagon and pay that $32.00 because NO! I think the color is beautiful but I just wasn’t impressed.
I rarely do a review not loving a product but honestly, this just didn’t hit the mark for me. These are just my opinion and honestly if you loved it let me know. It could be a way to make it better.
