Favorite Spring Foundation for WOC

Hey loves,

I wanted to share with you some of my favorite warm weather “foundations”. Now, if you’re wondering why I used quotations around the word foundation is because, these aren’t all considered to be official foundations. In my mind, foundation, bb/cc cream, tinted moisturizer or whatever the case all serve the same purpose. It’s a way to even out your skin tone. Now, cleared a foundation will more then likely give more coverage then a bb/cc cream but to me, it’s all the same. I figured I could bring you some “higher end” as well as some very affordable products, so let’s get to it.

springfoundation31. M.A.C. Cosmetics Pro Long wear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation

The Claim:

A tenacious waterproof formula that can be used as a foundation or concealer, wearing for an unprecedented 24 hours. Neither rain nor tears can budge this oil-free watertight product that actually repels moisture from the surface of the face. The formula blends seamlessly on the skin with medium to full weightless coverage and a natural satin finish.

The Verdict:

Last summer, I pick this gem up as soon as it released. As as only girl, it’s almost impossible to find make up that will not ever allow oil to break through. It’s my life, I deal. This foundation did an awesome job as holding up, all day long. It show and proved. It was indeed waterproof. I did get a bit shiny but it was honestly just a dewy look and not disco ball shine. The color was a perfect match, it blended in very well, and it had a great lasting power. I was out in the elements and it held up well. There was little to no transfer and it was super light weight. I highly recommend this foundation for anyone that has oily skin.

2. L.A. Girl Pro BB Cream-Dark

The Claim:

An all-in-one skin beautifier! This essential new addition to L.A. Girl’s HD PRO series simplifies a basic skin and makeup regimen into a single tube. Indulge your skin with this powerful multi-tasker. HD PRO BB Cream primes, moisturizes and enhances skin tone.

This product was formulated without parabens and fragrance-free to pamper sensitive skin and lavishly nourish skin with added Vitamin B3, C and E. The silky formula covers a wide range of skin tones offering eight shades.

Smooth, youthful-looking skin
-Enhances skin tone

The Verdict:

Lemme just first acknowledge that I purchased this item for $2.99. Let’s have a moment of silence for a $3 face product that actually performs as it should! This is perfect for Spring time wear. It’s light weight, hydrates but it’s not oily, no smell and blends like a dream. You can find a full review here. It may be one of the best $3 I’ve ever spent on a make up product. It left me a bit dewy, required a good primer underneath and to be set of course but for 3 bucks, who’s mad? Find a full review here.

3. Cover Girl Queen CC Cream-Sheer Espresso

This lightweight CC Cream for dark skin tones provides a flawless, natural look while caring for your skin. Its unique hydrating ingredients leave skin feeling moisturized, but it’s oil free, so no greasy after feel. Even skin tone and won’t clog pores? Yes please.

The Verdict:

When I first saw this in the snow, I jumped for complete joy. As a woman of color, it’s sometimes really hard to find “foundations” in the drug store that match my complexion. Shout out to Queen Latifah for making a WOC based makeup line with in Cover Girl. This is one of the smoothest, thickest but lightest face products I’ve tried. When placed on your hand or on a palette, it literally does not move. It doesn’t slide or anything which lets me know that it’s thick enough for good coverage. When I saw this I expected it to be heavy but it was the complete opposite. It was super light weight, provided excellent coverage, was hydrating but not oily at all and lasted a good 5-6 hours before I got any shine. A little blot and I was as good as new. Best part about it is, you can purchase it for as low at 3.99. Hello! Steal!?! Is that you? Yes ma’am it is! Find a full review here.

4. MAC Face & Body Foudation-N9

The Claim:

A comfortable, lightweight fluid foundation with a unique blend of emollients that delivers low-to-medium buildable coverage and a natural satin finish. The moisturizing, long-wearing formula glides onto face and body providing stay-true color.
The Verdict:
This is one of the most natural, skin like, light weight foundations I have ever tried. I have plenty of flaws on my skin but this does a pretty good job at covering them to my liking. I took this on my cruise and it lasted through out the day while walking around hot ass Florida. Find a full review here.

Now, it’s your turn. What’s your go to foundation for the warmer month? Let’s take about that!

I hope you all enjoyed this post. Until next time…BE FABULOUS!
