The Good, The Bad & The Ugly: Colour Pop No Filter Foundation

Hey babes,

I gave the Colourpop No Filter Foundation, the good college try. My initial reaction was “Damn, this is a nice foundation for $12.00”. The finish is phenomenal. It’s literally looked like healthy skin. I had it for for a good 8-10 hours and and the end it simply looked like I had a glow. Nothing a bit of pressed powder couldn’t fix. Let’s get started.

The claims:

Developed for the Selfie Age, our buildable full coverage, natural matte foundation delivers flawless looking skin from day-to-night. The oil-free, lightweight formula blends smoothly and is easily customizable to create the coverage you want. Build it up or sheer it out, it was developed with innovative soft-blurring pigments to deliver true color while looking and feeling natural. The lockable pump is easy to use and keeps your routine mess-free! As always, 100% cruelty-free and vegan.

Net Weight 25mL (0.85 fl oz)

The Test:

Now I can attest to the natural matte finish. It’s not that dry matte that makes you look caked by the pound. This is what I would consider a “healthy matte” is that even a thing? It has the ability to build up to a fuller coverage while still managing to be light weight. Initially, I had no complaints. Let’s get to the visuals.

This was roughly 30 minutes after application. The finish is pretty matte but not harsh or heavy.

This was actually about 2-3 hours after application, natural light and in the elements. I walked both the National Harbor as well as shopping at some outlets. This was taken for a full spin. I put this to a real test. The foundation didn’t blur my pores but also didn’t enhance them either. I sweated, patted my face and there was no touch ups. I spent a good 9 hours in this foundation. There was a bit of transfer and at the end of the day, I was just shiny in my T-Zone.

I figured I could give the sheer pressed powder a run, to see if it would bring the shine down. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it did.

The powder brought me right back to life. Perfect refresher to a long day of product testing. Side note: y’all see that highlight though? Anywho, at the end of the day, it was still in very good shape.

Final Thoughts:

The shade is a pretty good match, color range is great butttt my face broke out so bad after this. I was so upset. Some of you may know I have super acne prone skin and unfortunately, this gave me the worse flair up. I’m talking painful, under the surface, leaving black spots kinda pimples. It was a flaming hot mess! Piping HOT! It took forever to get my skin together.

I will include the arm swatches this evening.

Have you tried this foundation? What’s your thoughts?
